For many K-pop fans, Batman’s Alley has a special meaning: it is where BTS took photos during their first visit to Brazil, in 2014. Here is what is known about the visit and how to add the alley to your itinerary. More information in our complete guide to Batman’s Alley.
What happened in 2014
In 2014, BTS came to Brazil for the first time for a concert in São Paulo. While in the city, the group did a photo shoot at Batman’s Alley. Years later, a photo taken in the alley appeared in a picture frame in a BTS Festa video, as pointed out by the fan club BTS Brasil.
CNN Brasil looked back at that first visit in its K-Tudo segment:
Are the 2014 murals still there?
Probably not. The graffiti in the alley is repainted often, so the background of the BTS photos has most likely changed. The lane, the cobblestones and the atmosphere of the place are still the same.

Itinerary for ARMY
- Visit the alley on a weekday morning for photos without the crowds.
- Recreate the poses from the 2014 photos in the main lane.
- Combine it with the Patápio Staircase, right next door.
- See how to get there and our photo tips.
